The beer garden at The Strand
A little sunshine. A longer lunch.
Step off Cheltenham High Street and into our south-facing beer garden.
A spot for a leisurely lunch, a catch-up over craft beer, or a quiet pause in a busy town day.
Town on the doorstep. Time on your side.
The Promenade and Brewery Quarter are nearby, but there is no need to keep moving. Find something seasonal on the menu, explore the twenty rotating taps and bring the dog along for the afternoon.
Meeting a few friends for food? Choose a table online. Planning a celebration? Our upstairs room seats up to 26, or welcomes 35 standing; the downstairs room has its own bar and space for up to 60. Tell us the date and number of guests and we will talk through the options.

Lunch on the High Street, a long conversation in the garden, an evening at the bar. The Strand has different spaces for different kinds of day, all with the same easy welcome.
At the table
Let dinner be the occasion.
You do not always need a birthday or an anniversary to make dinner a plan. Sometimes it is enough to choose somewhere comfortable, order something you have been looking forward to and give the evening your full attention.

Out in the garden
Take the afternoon outside.
Behind the High Street frontage, our south-facing beer garden changes the mood. Covered during the winter months, it is a place to put down the shopping bags, catch up over a drink and let a quick stop become a little longer throughout the year.
The bar’s twenty taps make choosing the next beer part of the pleasure, with other drinks for whoever is joining you. Start indoors if the weather has other ideas; step outside when the sun appears. A Cheltenham afternoon does not need much more of an itinerary than good company and somewhere you want to stay.
An evening at the bar
Stay for one more round.
When the day starts to wind down, the bar gives you plenty of reasons to stay. Find a new favourite among twenty rotating taps, ask what the team is enjoying, or settle on a cocktail, a glass of wine or something without alcohol.
Come in after work, meet friends before dinner or let a quick pint turn into an evening together. The High Street is just outside, but there is no need to hurry back to it.
